If you feel that you personal information has been compromised, you can take the following steps:

• Contact the three credit bureaus and add a freeze to your credit report to prevent further identity theft:

• Monitor your credit report regularly
• Consider filing a police report with local law enforcement 

• Never give out personal identification to anyone if you are not confident who you are dealing with.
• Never give out your account information, including logins, passwords, and card numbers.
• Be cautious who you communicate with through digital means:

  • Text Message
  • Email
  • Internet
• Do not accept funds from people you do not know.
• Do not reply/respond to or click on links from email or text messages that are unknown.
• If you didn’t initiate contact, go directly to the company/organization or person to verify.
